Christmas vacation photo dump

It's Monday and I am getting ready for my job interview. Since I have only had to wear scrubs, I don't have too many fancy work clothes so I always seem to wear the same type of outfit to interviews.

1. I got my hair done after 2 months and got to see my friends!

2. I got to see my precious little nephew.



3. I got to dress for cold, cold weather! That's the first time all "winter." It wasn't a white Christmas but it sure was cold!! (-27)

5. My plane got delayed 3 hours and then undelayed...however that works so I drank coffee and watched the different airport characters. ;)

Just kidding.. I couldn't resist since everyone always gets engaged or announces their pregnancy around Christmas. That ring was huge so I needed to try it on, I don't think I could really wear that size everyday though :)

December 27th...Xmas recap.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!! I have really been sucking at blogging even though I have posts written so don't be surprised if you see Christmas related posts in a couple days ;)

Today, I would have been engaged for 2 years! It blows my mind really.... 

I am filled with relief like holy shit, I would be planning my future with that #%^*&$# but also sadness that I am no longer on that journey with him. It's crazy to be planning your future with someone and then the next day, it's like it never happened. Even though it did, if ya know what I mean ;) I will spare everyone the long complicated story. He will always have a piece of my heart though ;) 

Christmas Eve was weird this year. The last 6 years I have spent with my "other family" aka the ex's and then Christmas with mine. His mom and grandma still gave me presents. I'm glad they love me ;) but I don't know how I feel about that situation... It's kinda weird don't ya think? Idk..idk. I successfully dodged him for 9 days that we were in the same 2 block radius though. Impressive, eh?

Anyways...

We had appetizers and a ham/potatoes meal instead because Christmas dinner was going to be soup. SOUP! We have never done soup on Christmas before.. I just want my old traditions back...is that too much to ask?! :(

My family opened presents with my maternal grandparents and then went to my paternal grandparents to eat and open gifts. Both of my grandparents sent my presents to Cali since they didn't think I was coming so I just watched everyone open there stuff haha which was okay. I really don't need anything besides rent money anyways...ha ha ha ...ho ho ho

I fly back tomorrow and I'm glad I saw my family but I'm ready to go back. My family drives me crazy!!!! It turns out I am becoming a VERY independent person!  I guess I am a little sad to go so far away again since I have no idea when I will be back to visit again. Being an adult is complicated ha ;) 

I have another job interview when I get back so I'm looking forward to that!!!

In case I don't post before again 2014, the main thing I have learned this year is:

Wicked Wednesday

So when I started this post late last night...it was looking to be an awful Wednesday. I am feeling better about my life now though ha

I was down in the dumps because I had no idea it would be this hard to find a job!! I have to have all of my licenses and information transferred to CA and quite frankly, it's a pain in the ass.

I went to the dentist on Monday.. My mouth is still pain after 2 weeks because the lady was an idiot and charged me major $$. I got done at the dentist...my tire is almost flat. I waited a couple of days and then went to put air in it.  I went to 5 gas stations and only one had an air pump that charged. So I proceed to put air in my tire except it took the air out. I'm sure it was an operator error but still, come on.

I get home from that disaster, check my bank account, which was fine when I left and it's overdrawn by a large amount. I definitely had an "omg, what the fuck am I doing with my life" moment even though it was wrong. An hour later, it was fine so I had a meltdown for no reason haha

I also went to check out the highly recommended "Surf City Nights" that happens every Tuesday in HB. I park, lock the car (while still inside) so the headlights go off. Well, I guess I put the security on because when I tried to get out, the door wouldn't open and a very loud, annoying alarm went off. In front of a group of guys.. It took me like 3 minutes to get the thing off, I wanted to disappear. The fair wasn't worth the embarrassment either ha

So the point of this post is not for people feel sorry for me, but to remind myself in 3 months, when I hopefully have more money and a job, that even though I was feeling like crap, it all worked out fine. Sometimes, you just need to have a meltdown before you can feel better :)

Lame Weekend #500 ;)

My weekend was pretty lame but I wanted to participate in Sami's last Weekend Shenanigans!

I went to a little strip mall a few blocks away. They had a Charming Charlie's..I have never been so of course I had to go...Are you catching on that I have only been to like 5 stores in my life? haha #smalltownprobs Accessories galore! I loved that store.














I also got suckered into Bath & Body Works- Buy 3, Get 3 Free sale. I love the holiday soaps!!

KLR packages make everything better! :) I am officially addicted....My heart and wardrobe love it, my checking account cries every time I buy something.

I talked to my mom, we have always fought because we are so similar and we just clash all the time. The water works just came after I got done talking to her. I guess maybe I miss her a little :)

I plan on FINALLY going to the Street Fair that goes on every Tuesday. I forget every Tuesday but I am determined to go. I am excited to see all the lights and Christmas stuff :)

Sunday Social- 12.08

1. What is the wallpaper on your cell phone? My cute little nephew :) 

2. What do you keep beside your bed? A lamp and my phone charger.

3. What is your least favorite chore? Hmm..dishes. I used to not mind them but now I don't have a dishwasher and have to do them every stinkin' day. Annoying.

4. If you could eliminate one thing from your daily routine, what would it be? Blow drying my hair!!!! It only takes 10-15 min but I wish it could just *poof* be dry. 

5. What do you do to vent anger? Mumble things to myself, hit things, cry, scream. I am also an emotional cleaner, which can be good or bad haha 

6. What is your favorite holiday of the year and why? Christmas. It's one of the few times my family all gets together and I enjoy celebrating it. 

12.04.13 Randoms

I went for a job interview yesterday. It was a bust. By bust, I mean I turned it down. I'm sure you are thinking, "What were you thinking?!" Yes, I need a job but the lady on the phone lied to me. She said it was going to be an office job and blah blah. Wrong, it was a sales job where you go to peoples houses and sell them stuff. Um...no thanks. So I will continue to be poor and save my life..because sales job at unknown houses = me being murdered.

I am also really annoyed with Cali drivers. The next person that shoves their car in the 6 inches of space between me and the next car, is gonna get rammed. I may just be in a pissed off mood all the time lately but I have been full of road rage at those mother truckers. 1. Use your blinker. 2. Stay in your own freaking lane. 3. Just because there is 6 inches of space, does NOT mean you should go there. Obviously, I should stay off the freeways.

 

Me and Cali gas stations on the main roads are NOT getting along. Their shit is all fancy hole in the wall and they do not want to work for me. I had to drive 4 extra blocks away just to find an old fashioned gas station. I can't even imagine if I would have been caught on candy camera. I was cussing those mother truckers out and the idiot inside said "no gas, no pay, you otay" THANKS, pal.

I want to go home for Christmas but I'm not really sure that it will be possible so cross your fingers for me :)

* I had this started and was going to be all bloggy awesome and post this on Monday. That was before I went to the dentist and had to get a root canal. Seriously?! Ugh, yuck the dentist.

I started my weekend off by going to see Delivery Man at the movies here. Yes, I went by myself. It was weird but funny.

Plus, I actually curled my hair! #winning It didn't hold that long but it didn't look half bad!

Saturday, I went to yoga on the beach. I can't get over how great it is! The instructor did a few new moves and yoga is a lot harder than it looks! It feels like you can barely move when it's over, yet you also feel so rejuvenated.

I saw Bad Grandpa later that night. HILARIOUS!! I also went by myself again, I am not ashamed to admit it haha I laughed the whole time! Sometimes you just need a good laugh ya know?

Sunday I laid around in my pjs until 3 pm. I had the WORST toothache that started on Saturday. Just my luck, that I would have to go to the dentist 3 weeks after moving here. Ehhhhhh yuck.

So that was my weekend. Whoop whoop. I live a boring life, I know :)

Tomorrow I have a job interview so let's hope I get it. Cause this chick needs some moolah! Plus it's really not staying at home all the time. It seems fun but it's not haha

Can you believe it's already December?!  It's finally my birthday month - yay! Not to brag, but it's 80 degrees here today! It is actually kinda weird.

4. What is your favorite day of the week? Hmm...I would have to say Saturday now. I have been doing yoga on the beach and it gives me something to look forward too.

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope everyone is having a great day!

I am missing my family today as I am celebrating Thanksgiving alone. I am so thankful for everything they have done for me lately and I can't wait to see them over Christmas!

5 things I am thankful for today:

1. Family. We don't always get along, hardly ever but I would be so lost without them.

2. Old Jobs. Thanks to working my ass off at my last two jobs, I have saved up enough money to live off of until I finally get a job. Blah.

3. Internet. It's a great time waster and it's also how I'm trying to find a job. I plan to do my Black Friday shopping on there instead of fighting the crazy crowds.

4. Friends. I may not have many of them, but I love the ones I have!

5. New opportunities. I am glad I jumped at the chance at moving and starting new. It may not be going perfect so far but I am looking forward to all the wonderful things it brings. ;)

I'm sure there is a ton of more things I should be and am thankful for but I am off to make my Thanksgiving dinner. I don't care if I'm eating alone, I'm going allll out!

I had a fabulous weekend otherwise! This post is super late but it's the thought that counts, right?

Friday night, my stuff came and it's so very lovely to have a real bed.

I started Saturday morning off by going to yoga on the beach. It was so relaxing and fun! I have done yoga videos before but I liked having the instructor right in front of me and other people around. There were also dolphins swimming a few hundred feet from the sand and it was so awesome! There were just hanging out with the surfers. I wanted to run in and go swim with them.

Saturday evening, I tried to put a dent in my unpacking. I thought packing was bad but unpacking is much worse and more time consuming!

Sunday, I went for a 14 mile bike ride. 14 MILES. Killer. Cool views though. More on that later...(maybe)

Monday--I went to Home Goods for the first time ever. Seriously, I have never been there before. I LOVED everything. I can't wait until I have a lotta money someday so I can make my home fabulous! Thank you Home Goods and Pinterest.

I also got a job interview! I did a happy dance and then almost broke my ankle fell over because of the mess. ahahaha can't you just picture it? I scream disaster.

No Snow for me :D

1. It's snowing in Iowa and not in Cali. Yippppee. I don't miss having to warm my car up 15 min ahead of time or scrapping my windows off.

3. My stuff should be here tonight. I will be SO glad when I don't have to sleep on an air mattress anymore. Plus it will be nice not to have an empty apartment.

4. I have not made one stinkin' friend since I have been here. I suck at making new friends and meeting people. I also do not have a job yet so I am using both of those as my excuse for eating the whole bag of almond kisses.


5. There are 3 Starbucks within a block of me. So I have went there everyday since I have no coffee maker and a gift card (good excuse, right.) It's quite delicious. And yes, there were cute boys there too. ;)

Two other randoms...
I made my first supper the other night. Spaghetti..which was a little under cooked. Yet, people wonder why I don't have a man right..

I also giggle whenever I see butter belly buttons. I really am 12 at heart.
