Week. End. Recap.

Sooo, this weekend recap is a tad bit late. I will be posting the reasons why very soon!

I got caught up on a few shows this past weekend. Even though, I had 134 blog posts to read, I watched Nashville. I have been waiting since the last season finale to see what happens. Thank goodness, they both lived. Also...check out this eye candy. BONUS.

Charles Esten
Sorry ladies, couldn't find any of him shirtless..ha ;) I'm awful, I know but he is pretty good looking for an older guy. I have also been watching Rookie Blue. I'm rooting for Sam and Andy!!

I watched a 10 year all day Saturday. Is there really any better birth control than a bratty child with an attitude? ha! She was actually pretty good compared to normal but still....

I'd say I'm a pretty cool "watcher", if I do say so. We baked cookies, painted her nails, went out for lunch, and tie-dyed shirts.

While I may have burnt the cookies, got fabric paint all over my feet, and messed up her nails, I still think I did pretty good ;) Her parents aren't really the "involved" type so I love to get her involved in new activities and teach her new things whenever I watch her. :) I really don't know too many activities to do with 10 year olds.. Heck, I really don't even remember what I liked to do at 10.

I picked up two copies of Lauren Conrad's books from the library. I hadn't read them yet and thought they would be good. I started L.A. Candy and it is pretty good. For some reason, I thought it would be different, like about her life or something but it's not.

I called 12, TWELVE apartments in CA on Friday. Only 1 answered...oh hey fine.
I finally figured out the area, I want to live in. I had picked Long Beach because it was cheaper but since the first 2 apartments fell through, I decided to go back to my original plan. Who knows what will happen!!

J.o.b.s - Social Sunday

Happy Sunday! I really enjoyed sleeping in and slowly slipping my coffee. :)

Sunday Social

1. What is your dream job? To be a pediatric and/or OB-GYN nurse. Lately, I have been thinking about being a teacher too... See a theme here?

2. If you had just won the lottery and didn’t need to work for money, what would you do with your time? Bake, exercise, blog, SHOP, drink, read, attempt my bucket list....I could go on and on. Maybe I should buy myself a lottery ticket.... I actually think I would go crazy after awhile though.

3. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?
I would say..focus on the good and not the bad. Everyone thinks, "Eww, you clean butts." Yes, you do clean butts but you also get to know the residents and that becomes such a small part in their care.

4. What would be your ideal “just for fun” job?
I would love to be a professional organizer and decorator! Isn't that nuts? I love to clean and organizer other people's stuff. I am always messing with my mom's stuff and helping her redo rooms.

5. What was your first “real” job?
I started working at the movie theatre when I was 16. It was an easy job and great perks, like free popcorn and movies. (I still work there off and on.) I was crazy and had 3 jobs when I was 16. I loved making my own money and not relying on my parent's for that.

This is an old picture but all I could find. It doesn't look so blah and boring anymore.

Heavy Heart

My heart is heavy this morning as I write this. Yesterday, two people from my community lost their lives. It seems I have been reminded daily that life is so short. Knowing first hand what it is like to lose a sibling, I am hurting so much for the family. I wish I could help take some of their pain away, it is a pain that no one should have to endure so young.

I believe that God has a plan and a reason for everything but things like this, really test my faith. Yesterday, he took a brother, son, boyfriend, cousin, and friend away from the community. He took a mother, sister, daughter, and a friend away also.
Living in a small community, things like this really hit home and bring the light to your eyes. I don't understand why this is happening, I may never understand but it just makes me that much more thankful that I am still here today.

I am thankful that although my family doesn't understand my future move, they have stood by me anyways.

I am thankful that I attended a small school where I got to know everyone and made a lot of memories. Three of my classmates have been in serious accidents lately and I am glad I would be able to tell you certain things about each one instead of just "I knew them."

Please excuse my midnight editing...

Nate was my locker neighbor throughout school. We were never that close of friends but we always said "Hi" to each other or he would make some smart ass remark to me.
He was always cracking a smile and trying to make people laugh.
He was a ladies man. He always had a girlfriend or was trying to impress one.

He had recently been involved in doing and selling drugs but he was clean for the last few months. He had found God and turned himself around. It took courage for him to face all the people who doubted him, who were just waiting for him to mess up, and prove himself to them.

He fell asleep and never woke up at the young age of 22. I hope he rests in peace and comforts his family from up above. <3

I am thankful that I have friends who also stand by me through my ridiculousness. I do not have many close friends but I am SO thankful for the ones that I do have.

I may be confused with God right now and his plan but I am thankful for all the things he has helped me with in life so far..

One of my favorite quotes, " Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." -Unknown.

Hold your loved ones tight and please say a prayer for all the families who are hurting everywhere right now. <3 <3

End Alzheimer's!

I started out my weekend by a couple of the best 2 B's of fall...Beer and Bonfire. It was relaxing but chilly which let me know that summer has officially left. I still have mixed feelings about this...

1. I participated in the "Walk to End Alzheimer's" Walk yesterday. It was a 2 mile walk and it was for a good cause. It honestly isn't a "fun" walk but I love to tease my bosses after I lap them. Working with resident's who have been affected by this disease encourages me to walk every year. It is heartbreaking to see what this disease can do to people. I am glad I can do my part while exercising!! [Info]

2. I have decided on my next tattoo. I just need to get the balls to actually do it. Yikes....

Anyone have a wrist tattoo?

3. I went shopping with my mom after the walk. Target was a must. Of course, I found some good steals.

I am going to try this Garnier Fructis Dry Shampoo. It's a little more expensive than Suave but it smells soo good!

I also stopped at Michael's. They had Hello Kitty coffee mugs on sale for $2!! (originally $6) If you think I passed those up, you are crazy. I got an ornament for a craft project that I mayyyy get up on the blog soon. It's hard to say really.....opps.

4. I actually got ready last week, it has been a couple weeks since I actually did my hair....:/ #fail
5. Check out my cute nephew! I posted this snapchat a couple of weeks ago on IG, but I had to share again :)
6. I FINALLY ordered the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I have been wanting it for awhile and yesterday, I just did it! Everyone says it is amazing and I can't wait to get it!

 7. Many things have been happening that are scary around here in this town lately.. I will be writing a post about it soon and how thankful I am to be here and healthy...

P.S. I am extremely jealous of my IRL friend, Brooke who gets to meet Mama Laughlin, Skinny Meg, and Holly this next weekend!! I think I need to send her a picture of my face stuck to a popsicle stick so it will feel like I'm there.......please ? :) Otherwise, I will be forced to photo shop myself in. ;)

Sami's Shenanigans

Julep Box #2

Hello there. It's Tuesday and I'm posting....would you look at that?! :) #beimpressed

I got my second Julep box in the mail this week! I was excited when I saw it and opened it right away. Due to the price, I think this will be my last box for awhile. $20 isn't much but I need to save up for moving and it's the smart thing to do....womp womp. I sound old with all this saving money talk.
Old but sassy, biotches.

I changed my profile to Classic with a Twist and loved it! I got 2 nail polishes, a nude cream and dark purple. The nude will be nice for the fall but the purple was really dark and thick.

I got a beauty product with it this time too. It was Bare Face Cleansing Oil.... I LOVED it! I have been using Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes, they have worked okay but my eyes hurt after having to scrub my mascara off. This took my makeup off right away! I was so impressed, it even took my waterproof mascara off easily. Since it's oil, it left my face nice and soft. My face is acne prone so we will see if the oil causes problems or not. For now, I am really impressed!!

I got this One-Step Polish Remover Pad, which I have not used yet.

This card came with the box and it was perfect!! I have been really nervous about moving and hoping everything will go smoothly. Everyone at work finally knows about it and have been really questioning me. So this quote makes me feel much better!! So true!

I like trying new beauty products and have been thinking about trying Ipsy...any comments? I would love to hear if anyone has gotten Ipsy before and what you thought about it! :) I really like getting a box every month!
